The elf essential brightening eye shadows are from the essential / dollar line by elf. These are fun little eyeshadow palettes with 4 shades in them. You can find these in Target, the elf website or sometimes the dollar stores. Recently I’ve noticed they have started carrying them at Shopko.
I have six of these elf essential brightening eye color palettes. Not pictured is the Silver Lining, which is part of my project 10 pan. The ones I have are(from top to bottom, left to right):
- Day 2 Night
- Teal Dream
- Blue Moon
- Silver Lining(not shown)
About the elf Essential Brightening Eye Color
The eyeshadow palettes are quads meaning they have 4 different colors in each palette. The packaging is a hard plastic compact that comes with a sponge applicator and tiny mirror inside. The packaging is pretty tough, I depotted these shadows and it was one heck of a fight.
I really love the colors but some of them are really powdery and can break easily. As I mentioned before the Silver Lining eyeshadow is in my project pan, the two pink ones in this quad are pretty powdery. The black and purple seem to be pretty good so far. With the other eyeshadows it seems there is at least one powdery color in each palette.
Without some kind of primer these eye colors will fade or crease but I expect that with most shadows. I’ve used an eye primer and my NYC concealer stick, both did not have any creasing or fading. I’m pretty sure any base would work fine with these eye shadows.
I think I might buy these again but it probably won’t be for a bit since I want to try out some other brands and finish my project pan.

I realized I forgot to do Silver Lining and Blue Moon so I’ll add those soon.
